Public Records Request

Types of Public Records

Incident reports are available for emergency responses by the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District, including motor vehicle accidents, fires, fire alarms, and other emergency calls. To help us locate the correct report, please provide the dateapproximate time, and location of the incident.

Fire Investigation Reports are for fire incidents requiring an investigation. Reports are available after the investigation has been completed and finalized by the Fire Inspector. 

Patient Care Reports may only be released when the patient is identified by name and a completed HIPAA Authorization Form is submitted with the request. To help us locate the correct report, please provide the patient’s name, date of birth, incident location, incident date and approximate time. A HIPAA Authorization Form is available upon request. 

Note: Greater Naples Fire Rescue District does not provide patient transport services. For patient transport records or transport billing inquiries, please contact Collier County EMS at (239) 252-3740. 

Property Reports consists of reports for properties with open fire code violations; the most recent fire inspection reports; and/or incident response history involving hazardous materials (if applicable).

Note: Incident response reports document emergency response activity only and are not environmental assessments or clearances.

A detailed description of the incident for the records you are requesting is required for General/Other Requests.

Upon request, the District may provide:

  • Incident Reports
  • Fire Investigation Reports
  • Patient Care Reports
  • Open fire code violations
  • Most recent fire and life safety inspection report
  • Incident response history involving hazardous materials

GNFD does NOT maintain:

  • Patient Transport Records
  • Phase I or II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Contaminated site reports
  • Petroleum storage tank records
  • Hazardous waste site records
  • Environmental remediation files

Pursuant to Florida Statute 119, directing that all state, county and municipal agencies must allow access of its records to the public, the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District is committed to providing public access to records in a timely, efficient and transparent manner. We appreciate your patience and will respond as promptly as possible.

Fees: Pursuant to Florida Statute 119.07, fees may be assessed for the staff time required to process public records requests. Fees may apply for requests that require more than 15 minutes of staff time to complete, including research, data compilation, or the retrieval and production of records that are not readily available. If applicable, you will be notified of the estimated cost, and payment will be required before the request is processed. An invoice will be provided for any applicable fees.
